Here’s what I’m thinking: the fastest way to waste a working campaign is to trust a broken signal.
Sometimes traffic stays healthy while reported conversions suddenly disappear. Sometimes a platform counts actions that have no relationship to a real call, form, quote, or sale. Both problems can push a team toward the wrong decision.
Before scaling, trace the event all the way through. Submit the form. Call the number. Check the thank-you page. Review the goal setting. Compare the advertising platform with the website, call system, CRM, and the team’s lived experience.
Do not force every source to match perfectly. They measure different parts of the journey. Look for a consistent story and investigate the gaps that would change a budget decision.
The point of attribution is not to make a dashboard look complete. It is to help the business make a better next move.
When the signal is uncertain, pause the conclusion—not necessarily the campaign. Audit first, then scale what you can actually explain.
